The CVL CORE Live Testbed is an open evaluation client built with the Unity SDK. Rather than running an offline visualizer, this pre-built client establishes a direct, thread-decoupled TCP connection to a live, authoritative Linux VPS server instance.
Anyone can download the client, log in without credentials, inspect real-time server vitals, and observe authoritative spatial kinematics alongside hundreds of concurrent actors.
The public VPS instance runs a continuous authoritative simulation loop designed to demonstrate steady-state load handling.
| Parameter | Configuration | Engineering Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Server Target | Public Bare-Metal VPS | Authoritative headless Linux instance running the 30Hz spatial loop. |
| Cluster Capacity Ceiling | 400 Total Entities | Hard-capped by MAX_DEMO_CAP_EIDS = 400 to prevent socket degradation. |
| Dynamic Bot Balancing | Active Synthetic Swarm | Automated background bots continuously backfill empty slots up to the 400 ceiling. |
| Human Admission Priority | Dynamic Slot Reclamation | Incoming human connections automatically evict active synthetic bots in real time. |
| Egress Broadcast Cadence | 15Hz Conflation | Server physics tick at 30Hz while kinematics stream at 15Hz to reduce bandwidth. |
The live instance maintains an aggregate load of 400 entities. If 20 human testers are online, the cluster runs 380 autonomous bots. As additional human testers connect, the server’s admission pipeline reclaims slots from synthetic actors without requiring server restarts or dropping simulation ticks. When testers log out, the swarm generator scales back up to maintain continuous saturation benchmarks.
The testbed client includes an integrated diagnostic overlay (toggle via F3 or top-left HUD) rendering live engine metrics streamed directly from the wire:

Access to the standalone CVL CORE Server Runtime (allowing developers to run the Python/C spatial kernel locally on 127.0.0.1 and connect custom Unity or C# clients) is currently entering Closed Alpha.
